Las ilustraciones hacen referencias al Dellarocca Tarot y a célebres artistas, como Pamela Colman Smith, Oswald Wirth, Gabriel Goulinat y Jessie Burns Parke. Los Ases se inspiran en alegorías derivadas de la obra de Hendrick Goltzius. Diseñado por el artista alemán Nil Orange y el argentino Alejandro Christian Luna (autores de los mazos astrológicos Visual Zodiac y Visual Zodiac Pro), este mazo es una original combinación entre el espíritu del tarot de Marsella y el del Rider Waite/Smith.

El Orange Luna Tarot se apoya en la investigación de Mark Filipas respecto al orden de los arcanos mayores y su conexión con las 22 letras del alfabeto hebreo. Nil Orange sugiere una novedosa correspondencia con los Signos del Zodíaco, que comienza con Aries para El Loco, Tauro para El Mago, Géminis para La Papisa, hasta llegar a Piscis para La Fuerza. Los arcanos menores se ordenan a través de los cuatro palos, comenzando por Bastos (espíritu), Copas (alma), Espadas (mente), Oros (materia).
